Employer’s Agent
As the Employer’s Agent, our primary role is to act on behalf of the Employer on all issues requiring decisions and approvals, and in carrying out all the duties and functions which are required of the Employer under the Building Contract, save and except for any obligation to make any form of payment.The EA shall not be responsible for providing design and/or technical proposals, reviews, resolutions, etc. typically performed by specialist consultants (such as the Architect, Engineers, Quantity Surveyor, Interior Designer, etc.). The EA shall act as the liaison between these specialist consultants as the Employer’s independent advisor on issues relating to Brief, cost, and schedule conformance, and for seeking the Employer’s approvals on any deviations or variations.
The EA shall attend progress meetings on behalf of the Employer to be kept abreast of any pertinent issues requiring the Employer’s attention, and to be updated on the progress of works throughout the project from inception to design development to tender and award, and during the construction stage, in order to highlight any pertinent issues requiring the Employer’s attention and decisions.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Employer’s Agent shall not be responsible for contract administration duties and functions, which shall be undertaken by the Contract Administrator of the project.
